LG first-quarter sales up 26 pc

NEW DELHI: LG Electronics India Ltd has said its turnover rose 26 per cent in the first quarter of the calendar year to Rs 627 crore, driven by stronger sales of frost-free refrigerators and air conditioners.

The Indian subsidiary of the South Korean Chaebol said its consumer electronics business and household appliances business grew 34 per cent and 33 per cent respectively while IT business dipped 17.46 per cent. The consumer electronics business contributed Rs 248 crore to the turnover while household appliances and IT hardware and peripherals businesses added Rs 327 crore and Rs 52 crore respectively.
