Sharekhan's Net platform for day traders

MUMBAI, April 18

SHAREKHAN, the retail broking arm of SSKI group, has launched SpeedTrade - new Internet trading platform - for active traders.

The trading platform offers tick-by-tick update on stock price movements with market depth and intra-day chart. The investors can also customise the "Market Watch" page to reflect just the scrips of their choice.

According to Mr Jaideep Arora, Executive Director (online business), SSKI Investor Services, said SpeedTrade was focussed on day traders and all the details about the market — stock quotes, intra-day price charts and stock and news alerts — could be viewed on the same page.

He said with the new technology for SpeedTrade the order get placed with the exchange in less than five seconds.

According to Mr Arora, SpeedTrade belonged to the category of next generation Web trading products currently available only with handful of top global investment outfits such as Schwab, E-Trade, Ameritrade and Datek.

In order to trade on Sharekhan, investors have to pay an account fee of Rs 750 only. He said Sharekhan had been making profit for the last three months, after a setback since the launch in 2000.
