India, UK sign MoU on power

NEW DELHI, June 27

INDIA and the UK have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for co-operation in the power sector in London on Tuesday, according to a release.

The MoU provides for the establishment of a Joint Power Working Group for promoting and facilitating reforms in the power sector. It also envisages undertaking of various measures to facilitate development of power sector, exchange of experts and sharing of information.

The Minister for Power, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and the UK Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Ms Patricia Hewitt, signed the MoU.
