Karnataka: Nabard sanctions Rs 39.43 cr

BANGALORE: Nabard has sanctioned Rs 39.43 crore to Karnataka under the RIDF VIII tranche for the year 2002-03.

The amount is meant for irrigation, roads and bridges projects. The projects are to be implemented in 2002- 2004. The irrigation projects will bring 1,875 hectares of land under irrigation.

With the present sanction, the cumulative sanctions under various tranches of RIDF since 1995-96 have amounted to Rs 166.34 crore, of which the cumulative sanctions under RIDF VIII alone amounted to Rs 126.73 crore, said Mr S.M. Gupta, Chief General Manager of Nabard.
