Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Sept. 6

THE Energy Management Centre has invited applications for five energy conservation awards constituted by the Kerala Government for 2001-2002.

The first category award is for large-scale enterprises, including hotels, hospitals and public buildings, with an annual energy bill of over Rs 1.5 crore or with a fixed capital of more than Rs 10 crore.

The second category award is for medium-scale industries with total annual energy bill between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore or with a fixed capital ranging between Rs 1 crore and Rs 10 crore.

The third award is for small-scale industries with annual energy bill of less than Rs 30 lakh or with a fixed capital of less than Rs 1 crore.

These apart, there are awards for non-profit organisations such as local bodies and NGOs and for individuals like mediapersons and writers.

The qualifying period for the awards is between April 1, 2001 and March 31, 2002.

However, as conservation efforts require longer period for implementation, in some cases the work during the preceding three years will also be reviewed.
