Our Bureau

HYDERABAD, Dec. 8

THE Delhi Public School (DPS) Society which runs more than 100 schools spread across different States in the country and abroad is making preparations to start a school in Secunderabad from the next academic year in collaboration with Vidyananda Educational Society (VES), according to the Chairman of DPS, Mr Narendra Kumar.

He told presspersons here that DPS had been in existence for 50 years and was among the top three international schools shaping the future through quality education.

It was keen on expanding its network in the US, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. It wanted to start schools in New York, New Jersey, Washington and if possible in Los Angeles from September next year when the school academic session started in the US. A school in Kabul was also being planned.

He said the society was also running a school in Jedda, Saudi Arabia, and wanted to start a school in Tirupati from April 2004. It had already launched a school in Hyderabad a few months ago.

Mr U. Venkateswarlu, MP and Chairman of VES, said his society was organising the Secunderabad DPS and it was ready to extend similar facility to the proposed school at Tirupati.

He wanted Mr Narendra Kumar to open schools at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal in partnership with VES to work towards the creation of a knowledge society faster.
