Cost-effective HR solutions from Stony Carter

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD, Dec. 18

TO help mid-range organisations achieve their goals in a cost-effective way and in a reasonable time-frame, Stony Carter Consultants (P) Ltd, a Hyderabad-based HR consultancy, has several solutions to offer and one of them being, accepting joint accountability with clients in the adoption of techniques meant to make things happen, according to Mr R.C. Sastry, Chairman of Stony Carter.

He told presspersons here on Wednesday that his organisation was working on a micro-level KPMG model to suit the requirements of SMEs which could not afford McKinsey-type studies and solutions.

His organisation was also benchmarking competencies at various levels which had relevance and acceptability internationally.

To widen the scope of its goal with the help of talented young management students and executives, the organisation conducted a four-tier HR contest at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Kakinada and Guntur and slated the final round on "HR and building learning organisations" for December 21. Forty teams, 26 of students and 14 of corporates, took part in the contest.

As many as 17 teams including Glaxo Smithkline Beecham, ONGC, APSRTC, Osmania University, Badruka College, Institute of Public Enterprises, Divine India Ltd and Infotech Enterprises are scheduled to take part in the final round.

Three finalists will be selected on the basis of parameters such as content, structure of presentation, time management, language, questions and answers and delivery.

They will be given cash awards and a Stony Carter Cup.

Mr Sastry said the objective of the contest was to improve "the intellectual bandwidth of the current and the next generation human resources".
