BPL Mobile, TeliVoice unveil MAPS services

PUNE, Dec. 18

BPL Mobile and TeliVoice, a Sabeer Bhatia promoted company, have globally launched the Mobile Answer Phone Services (MAPS) for MOTS (mobile on the spot) subscribers of BPL.

Mr Sabeer Bhatia told presspersons that a MAP on MOTS would facilitate the subscribers to be accessible even when their mobile phones was switched off or not in the coverage area. He noted that at least 35 per cent of the subscribers switchedoff the mobiles.

He added that the service is in-built and gets activated automatically the moment the subscribers receive a voice message.

Asked whether this service would open doors in India he noted that the two problems that had been encountered in the country was that of payment upfront, which ranged anything between Rs 50 to Rs 90 per month, and the other being `cumbersome' to subscribe to voice mail.

To get around the problem, they had developed the technology and are giving it `free' to the subscribers.
