Off-shore Development i-flex picks Singapore for overseas centre Our Bureau
BANGALORE Dec. 18 I-FLEX Solutions Ltd, a provider of infotech solutions to the financial services industry worldwide, has announced the setting up of its first Overseas Development Centre (ODC) in Singapore. The ODC, located at the International Business Park, has the capacity to house 100 software developers, said a company press release. The Asia-Pacific Development Centre at Singapore strengthens i-flex's global delivery model through a combination of near-shore and off-shore development locations. This centre also forms an integral part of i-flex's strategy for providing continuity of business, the release said. "As part of our PrimeSourcing offering, we want our software development to be accessible by our customers in each region and this development centre is a significant step in that direction," said Mr R. Ravisankar, CEO International Operations and Technology. PrimeSourcing is i-flex's customised application software development and deployment methodology that adds value and reduces risk for the customer. ``Singapore - with it's highly developed infrastructure, geographic location as the regional hub, and availability of skilled software resources - has encouraged us to set up our first overseas development facility here,'' Mr Ravishankar added. ``We opened our sales and marketing office in Singapore in January 2001 and established our full-fledged subsidiary later in the year. This centre now will allow us to serve our customers with a greater flexibility and reinforce our commitment to customers in the region," said Mr Kishore Kapoor, Vice-President, Asia-Pacific Sales, i-flex Solutions Pte Ltd. The company already has a strong customer presence in the Asia Pacific region. Leading financial institutions using i-flex's product and services include DBS Singapore, UBS Warburg, Affin Bank in Malaysia, Citibank across Asia Pacific, Rabobank Shanghai and Toronto Dominion Bank in Hong Kong.
