Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The New Year is expected to bring cheer to farmers in the State as the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd has introduced a eight hour three phase power supply in rural areas, while ruling out any load-shedding in urban parts, including Banglore city.

"We have conserved hydel energy in such a way that a day's availability from hydel sources has improved to 18 million units a day to last till June 15, which is being used for peaking assistance," the Energy Minister, Mr Basavaraj Patil, said.
