Rs 25-lakh science award announced

BANGALORE, Jan. 3

THE Prime Minister has announced a Rs 25-lakh Indian Science Award to be given annually to an outstanding Indian or international scientist.

The Scientific Advisory Committee would look into the details, he said while inaugurating the Indian Science Congress here on Friday. On the occasion, a comprehensive biodiversity atlas and database of India was released by the Union S&T Minister, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi.
