Titan turnover up 10.5 pc in Q3

BANGALORE, Jan. 27

TITAN Industries Ltd has reported 10.5 per cent rise in its turnover during the third quarter of the current financial year compared to the corresponding period last year. Net sales during this period stood at Rs 228 crore, up from Rs 207.44 crore.

The profit, before amortisation and extraordinary item, reported 25 per cent growth rising from Rs 10.27 crore to Rs 12.88 crore, a company statement said. In the nine-month period ended December 31, 2002, the turnover increased from Rs 449.71 crore to Rs 540.5 crore. The operating profit on a like-to-like basis, before amortisation and extraordinary item (VRS cost), had gone up from Rs 0.91 crore to Rs 8.86 crore.

The time products division posted 11 per cent rise in sales, going up from Rs 277.19 crore to Rs 307.16 crore. The jewellery division reported 35 per cent jump, moving up from Rs 172.19 crores to Rs 232.75 crores.
