The Hindu Business Line : Conducted tours of treatment plants

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) will jointly organise conducted tours for citizens interested in visiting its reservoirs and treatment plants.

Making a presentation on the works and achievements of BWSSB in the last three years, the Chairman, Mr M.N. Vidyashankar, said that the board will launch a Rs 47-crore pilot project on "unaccounted for" water supply next month.

The board is the first in the country to have a digital and GIS mapping of its assets, which it will start using in April this year. It has also taken up major works on networking of water and sewerage lines in the city to arrest the flow of sewage water into storm water drains.
