Hyderabad Khadi board assistance

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board (APKVIB) has proposed to assist those who want to set up emporia in cities and urban areas to sell products of the board.

Likely to be promoted under the `Gramodaya' brand, each emporium would be given margin money on the lines of Rural Employment Generation Programme. The board runs two emporia in the city.

The board also proposed to sanction Rs 5.61 crore as margin money for 711 units in the State for the financial year 2003-04 as against Rs 5.77 crore for 547 units, Mr L. Ramana, Chairman of APKVIB, told reporters here on Thursday.
