CHENNAI, May 12

TAMILNADU Petroproducts Ltd (TPL) has informed the stock exchanges that it has deferred the consideration of annual accounts and declaration of dividend to next board meeting, because the approval from the Union Government for exemption from publication of certain information in the balance sheet has not been received.

A senior official of the company told Business Line that it had always been the practice of TPL to get the Government's approval, under Section 211(4) of the Companies Act, so that the company could avoid publication of certain competitive information in its balance sheet.

This year, the approval was not received in time.
