HYDERABAD: To accelerate disposal of cases, the Andhra Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission should link up with its district and national forum, which will enable quick gathering of information. Stating this, the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Mr Justice Devinder Gupta said that already e-governance initiatives in the judiciary had helped in reducing the number of pending cases. The use of videoconference in examining trial cases was really useful and catching up. The Chief Justice was speaking after inaugurating the Web site of the State Consumer Redresssal Commission at its office in Khairatabad today. The Web site contains details of cases registered, judgements delivered and other particulars of the Forum. Justice Gupta said AP was in the forefront in information technology initiatives and the launch of their own Web site by the Commission proved it. Mr Justice D.P. Wadhwa, President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission said awareness over consumer rights had increased. Consequently, the number of cases in the State forum has also gone up.
