Ungraded rubber up on enquiries

KOTTAYAM, June 16

RUBBER prices of all grades except ungraded rubber continued to stagnate on Monday. Though the arrivals were poor and transactions appeared to be thin, ungraded rubber managed to stay better by 25 paise at Rs 47.50 against Rs 47.25 on Saturday on scattered enquiries from the non-tyre sector.

The tyre companies were reluctant to procure rubber at the prevailing market conditions. The covering group has also disappeared.

The futures market showed a weak trend on Monday even if the market opened with a bullish tone recording RSS 4 July delivery at Rs 51, August delivery at Rs 51.05 and September delivery at Rs 50 per kg.

The per kg spot market rates were as follows on Monday: RSS 4 Rs 49.50 (Rs 49.50) RSS 5 Rs 48.25 (Rs 48.25) Ungraded rubber Rs 47.50 (Rs 47.25) ISNR 20 Rs 48.25 (Rs 48.25) Latex concentrate Rs 38 (Rs 38).
