Two-way global roaming from Hutch

NEW DELHI: Hutch, the cellular services of Hutchison Telecom, has announced two-way international roaming on prepaid that will allow subscribers to make outgoing calls and send SMS while roaming internationally.

Hutch is the first cellular operator in the country to offer this facility. The service will be operational from Monday. To begin with two-way international roaming on prepaid will be offered in the UK, Mauritius and Israel. Other countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa, Indonesia, and Thailand amongst many others will follow soon. Camel Phase II is the technology, which enables two-way international roaming on Hutch prepaid.

For the Hutch prepaid International roamer outgoing call rates will be dependent on the rates charged by the visited network in that country, comparable to the current international roaming rates for post-paid.
