The Hindu Business Line : Mescom mobile service counters to deal with faults

THE Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom) here has launched round-the-clock mobile service counters in places like Shimoga, Mysore and Mangalore, which will enable consumers get help and restore power supply whenever there is a fault.

According to a press release, the aim is to increase the reliability index— a system which has been exclusively evolved by Mescom. The reliability index presently showed a level of 98.40 in Mysore and 98.5 in Mangalore.

The mobile service counters are adequately equipped with requisite tools and means of repairing the faults within a short time and the personnel at the unit is equipped with wireless network facility, which will enable him to rush to the spot on receipt of a complaint. Mescom has also launched toll- free numbers that are connected to the mobile unit wireless sets.
