Gitex to focus on B2B space, SMEs

THE third essay of Gitex Hyderabad, an IT and communication event of the Dubai World Trade Centre slated for January 12 - 14, 2004 here, will focus on business-to-business interface with special emphasis on networking for the small and medium sized enterprises.

The Director-General of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Mr Mubarak bin Fahad, said the Gitex organisers had taken 2,500 sq.m. of space and expected to host 110 companies and about 7,800 visitors during the three-day event. Being co-sponsored by the National Association of Software and Services Companies, the Software Technology Parks of India and the Hyderbad Software Exporters Associatoin among others, the event will have a two- day parallel track hosted by the Nasscom. The conference will cover IT services, ITES and e-governance technologies, Mr S.V. Ramachandran, Regional Director, Nasscom, said.

"It is difficult to quantify the benefits of such events. But it is proven over the years that they provide a platform for interface and help build brand for the IT services industry in the global place," Mr Shakti Sagar, President, Hysea, said.
