New Delhi , Sept. 3

HUTCH has announced a new initiative for its pre-paid customers which allows them to customise tariffs as per their requirement.

In other words, a pre-paid subscriber can choose his outgoing call charges and SMS charges for durations of his choice.

Announcing the launch of this initiative, Mr Rajiv Sawhney, CEO, Hutchison Essar Telecom Ltd, said that this would give subscribers the flexibility and freedom of creating their own pre-paid plan based on their individual needs and requirements.

The options announced by the company include Talk@99p, SMS@60p, Family and Friends, and Talk Late.

These can be activated/deactivated anytime by subscribers as they desire, even for a short period of one week, giving them the freedom to opt for whatever they want as long as they want.

While the options are currently on offer for subscribers in Delhi, it will gradually be available for other Hutch subscribers across the country.

Under the Talk@99p plan, at a rental of Rs 66 per week, the prepaid subscriber will be able to receive the benefit of post-paid charges.

While mobile-to-mobile calls will cost 99 paise per minute, calls to landline and limited mobility (WLL) phones will cost Rs 1.99 per minute.

Heavy SMS users have the option of SMS@60p which comes with a weekly rental of Rs 6.

Once this plan is activated, subscribers will have to pay only 60 paise per message instead of Rs 1.50 that they are charged currently.

Under the Family and Friends scheme, on paying a weekly rental of Rs 6, subscribers can make cell-to-cell calls at 99 paise per minute to a number of their choice.

Similarly, a weekly rental of Rs 6 would also enable them to avail of subsidised late-night charges of 99 paise for all outgoing calls made between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Mr Sawhney said that the cost of a new Hutch pre-paid connection remains at Rs 299.

Subscribers who don't want to avail of any of these new schemes can continue to pay the current charges of Rs 2.40 from mobile-to-mobile and Rs 2.80 from mobile to non-GSM.
