Stanchart plan to invest in NDTV cleared

STANDARD Chartered Bank's proposal to invest Rs 52.88 crore in New Delhi Television (NDTV) was among the foreign direct investment proposals cleared by the Government on Monday.

The Minister for Finance and Company Affairs, Mr Jaswant Singh, cleared 18 FDI proposals involving a total FDI worth Rs 118.93 crore.

GMR Vasavi Group's plan to invest Rs 35 crore in GMR Power Corporation for setting up a 200 MW HFO/LSHS power plant has also been cleared.

Shell International has also also got the green signal from the Minister for setting up a wholly-owned subsidiary with an investment of Rs 14 crore for manufacturing and marketing of specalty grade bitumen.
