Hyderabad to house YES Academy

THE Education Development Centre, Inc., which is spearheading the YES (Youth Employment Summit), Campaign has decided to locate the YES Academy in Hyderabad.
The Academy, formally launched in February last, is aimed at bringing all the knowledge and capacity-building efforts of the campaign under one umbrella. "We are in the process of identifying a suitable location in Hyderabad to set up the academy," Ms Poonam Ahluwalia, Executive Director of YES Campaign, told Business Line.
Ms Ahluwalia is in the city in connection with the upcoming regional YES meet in December. The meet is likely to be attended by 1,000 delegates from 22 Asian countries.
"Initially the academy will focus on the YES issues concerning Andhra Pradesh. We will learn from the experience before taking up global issues," she said.
"We will survey the employment opportunities and emerging sectors. We seek to mobilise and organise the youth," she said.
The academy will also promote eco-entrepreneurship, the Executive Director said.
According to her, the Global YES meet will be held in Mexico next year.
