THE search committee of the Government to find a full-time Chairman and Managing Director for Air India today short-listed two-senior Government officials.

Sources indicated that the two names, which have been short-listed, will now be sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for making a final selection. The appointment will then have to get the nod of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Sources also indicated that the Public Enterprises Selection Board was in favour of having one person as the CMD of Air India. At present the CMD of Indian Airlines, Mr Sunil Arora, is also holding the post of Managing Director of the Air India.
