`Aryabhateeya' on Dec 6-7

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aryabhateeya-2003, a national seminar on scientific advancements of national relevance, will be held on December 6 and 7 at the Priyadarshini Planetarium here.
According to Dr C. Suresh Kumar, Secretary, Swadeshi Science Movement, this year's seminar would focus on the developmental and social perspectives in information technology and would feature around 300 delegates. It would aim at identifying scholars engaged in the study and research of IT and bringing them together for sharing knowledge and planning for future activities.
More than 20 resource persons from diversified areas would discuss topics such as digital integration, open source software, language issues in IT, space technology for IT, IT for the disabled, IT in biotechnology, media and IT, information system in rural development and human resources development in IT.
Those who have been awarded Ph.D by the Kerala University in the field of science and technology during this year would be honoured at the valedictory function on December 7. More details can be had from telephone Nos (0471)-2433084/2335036/3114363.
