Sree Sankaran Sanskrit University plans manuscript library

KOCHI: Steps have been initiated to establish a palm leaf manuscript library at the Sree Sankara Sanskrit University, Kalady with the financial assistance from Union and State Governments.

The project includes collections, classification and conservation of manuscripts and recording in micro film and digital media and publishing rare works.

The first instalment of the Union Government's fund Rs 7 lakh has already been released. Private individuals and institutions interested in handing over manuscripts can contact Dr P.C.Muralimadhavan, Convenor, Manuscript Collection Project, Sree Sankaran Sanskrit University, a release said.
