Mumbai , Nov. 21

RELIANCE Infocomm has launched international short messaging service (SMS) at a special launch price of Rs 2 per SMS, which it claims is the lowest international SMS rate in the country as compared to the Rs 5 charged by other service providers.

SMS can be made to as many as 159 countries through 430 operators across the world. But this is subject to SMS configuration on the network of other receiving operators, said a news release from the company.

Reliance IndiaMobile customers can send, receive, reply and forward simple text messages. Reliance Infocomm is offering technology neutral SMS to international networks — CDMA, GSM, TDMA or IDEN," said Mr S P Shukla, President, Wireless Products and Services of the company.
