HYDERABAD: Eyeing the $10-billion opportunity in the infotech hardware exports sector, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with the Manufacturing Association of Information Technology, is organising a two-day national conference on the hardware sector, beginning December 15 in the city.

"Titled `Advantag— e-Hardware 2003', the conference aims at exploring the opportunities in the sector. It will discuss the issues pertaining to the Indian hardware industry and measures that can make the industry globally competitive," a CII spokesman said here in a statement.

"According to latest estimates, hardware exports from the country grew over 17 per cent in 2001-02 to reach Rs 5,800 crore. India is targeting $10 billion by 2008," he said.
