Top-level recast in Bajaj-Allianz cos

Mr Sam Ghosh

A CHANGE of guard is on the cards for the management of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Allianz Bajaj Life Insurance companies.

Mr Sam Ghosh, who currently is the CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, will take over as CEO of Allianz Bajaj Life Insurance from Mr James Walton effective January 1, 2004, subject to regulatory approvals, said a press release.

Mr Walton will move to a new position within the Allianz Group in Asia. In his new capacity, Mr Ghosh will also take on the position of Country Manager India and will be responsible for both Allianz and Bajaj's life and non-life insurance businesses in India.


Mr Kamlesh Goyal

Mr Kamesh Goyal is also tipped to take over responsibility as CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company from Mr Ghosh on January 1, 2004, subject to regulatory approvals, the release said.

"Allianz and Bajaj thank Mr James Walton for his significant contribution to the establishment and development of Allianz Bajaj Life Insurance Company. We are confident that Mr Sam Ghosh is equipped with the skills, industry knowledge and local market to capitalise on Allianz Bajaj Life Insurance Company's early success, and take the company forward to its next phase of development," said a press release quoting Mr Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of Allianz Bajaj Life Insurance Company.
