Provisional dumping duty on flexible slabstock polyol

K.R. Srivats

New Delhi , Jan. 21

THE Finance Ministry has imposed provisional anti-dumping duty on all imports of `Flexible Slabstock Polyol (molecular weight 3000 to 4000)' from China, South Korea, Taiwan and Brazil.

Sources said that Manali Petrochemical Ltd, the sole producer of Flexible Slabstock Polyol of molecular weight 3000 to 4000 in the country, had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping probe on imports of this product from these four countries.

`Flexible Slabstock Polyol of molecular weight 3000 to 4000' is used in the manufacture of slabstock foam and polyurethane foam mattresses.

The Commerce Ministry had in December 2003 recommended the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty on its imports from China, South Korea, Taiwan and Brazil.
