`Campco, a model co-op agency'

MANGALORE: The Union Minister of State for Finance (Revenue), Mr Shreepad Yesso Naik, has termed the Central Arecanut and Coca Marketing and Processing Co-operative Ltd (Campco), a model cooperative agency in the country.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new administrative building of the Campco chocolate factory in Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday.

The Minister claimed that the Union Government has taken various steps for the benefit of farmers.

Mr V. Dhananjaya Kumar, MP, said that the Government is likely to reduce interest rate on agriculture loans. Farmers should get better prices for their produce, he added.

The Campco President, Mr B. Nagaraja Shetty, and the Managing Director, Mr G.R. Krishna Das, were present.

New chocolate products of Campco were launched on the occasion.
