Rubber prices rule steady

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , Feb. 2

RUBBER rates maintained a steady pace on Monday. Forecasts about the recovery in prices due to the re-entry of Chinese buyers in the international markets after a long vacation kept sellers on sidelines. Transactions were meagre as a holiday mood prevailed in the market.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 50.50 a kg as on Saturday. The TOCOM March features for RSS 3 moved down to Rs 58.60 from Rs 59.06 on Friday.

The rubber futures showed a mixed trend on Monday. The February delivery was quoted at Rs 51 (51), March delivery Rs 53.10 (53.15), April delivery Rs 55.59 (55.53), May delivery Rs 57.64 (57.80) and June delivery at Rs 59.55 (59.74) per kg for RSS 4.

The under-current appeared weak.
