Mangalore , Feb. 5

SYNDICATE Bank expects to save up to Rs 50 crore in a year under establishment costs with its special leave (sabbatical) scheme.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, the bank's Executive Director, Mr K.M. Shet, said that the special leave scheme for its employees was for a period of two to four years. Employees are eligible for 25 per cent of the gross pay under the scheme.

He said that the bank had launched NRI e-remittance scheme. Under this dispensation, customer's remittances from certain Gulf countries will be credited to the beneficiary's account in India online, if the account is maintained in a CBS (Centralised Banking Solution) branch. Demand drafts drawn on identified centres will be delivered immediately.
