TERI bags award

BANGALORE: The Southern Regional Centre of TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) at Bangalore has bagged two excellence awards of the Petroleum Conservation Research Association for 2003. It has been given the Best Energy Auditor Award and Best Performance Improvement Award for 2003.

The awards are in recognition of TERI's continuous efforts and commitment to promote energy conservation by identifying energy saving potential and for suggesting measures to help realise the savings identified, the institute said in a press release here. It has also helped to improve the standards set in this field and for establishing new benchmarks.

The Union Minister for Petroleum, Mr Ram Naik, gave away the awards recently to Mr Sameer Maithel, Associate Director, and Mr M.K.Halpeth, Fellow and Head of TERI, Bangalore.
