Pfizer Sanofi pact to promote anti-depressant drug

Mumbai , Feb. 6

PHARMA major Pfizer Ltd has entered into an agreement with Sanofi Synthelabo (India) Ltd for the co-promotion of Pfizer's anti-depressant product, Daxid.

The agreement is valid for a period of three years, the company told BSE. Daxid was launched in India in October 2002 and has sales of an estimated Rs 1.5 crore, industry analysts said.

Globally, Pfizer sells the product under the name Zoloft and it clocks revenues of about $3 billion, they said.
