THE Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised an interactive session with the Special Task Force, Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, here.
Welcoming the delegation , the President of the chamber, Mr N.R. Pai, emphasised the need for improved bilateral trade relations between India and Thailand and expressed hope that the recently signed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries and the visit of the Special Task Force would facilitate the process.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Ubolphon Klykoon, Assistant Director- General, Department of Export Promotion, Thailand, outlined the provisions of the FTA between India and Thailand and said that the purpose of the delegation's visit was to explore possibilities for increased bilateral trade and also to try and fill gaps, if any, in Indo-Thailand trade. She said it would be the Special Task Force's endeavour to improve bilateral trade relations wherever possible.
