Vaibhav plans to enter studded gold jewellery

VAIBHAV Gems Ltd, exporter of cut and polished coloured gemstones, is planning to enter the domestic studded gold jewellery market in a big way during the financial year 2004-05.

"The company is in the advance stage of a market study for launching its products in the Indian market. Soon, it would have its own showrooms in all the major metros," Mr Sunil Agrawal, Chairman, told presspersons during a plant visit.

"The Vaibhav's collections, set in 10k/14k/18k gold studded with precious gems, are contemporary, classy and unique. The company is going to manufacture light-weight gold chains at various designs in the range of 0.4 g to 2 g and to achieve the same, it has already placed orders for import of a complete set of chain marking manufacturing plant with five-chain marking unit with Sisma, Italy," he said.

"Vaibhav is soon going to come up in a big way in the field of diamond studded jewellery also. Under its expansion plan, the company is all set to acquire an existing diamond company dealing in diamond trading and exporting," Mr Agrawal said.

"In order to cater to the customers in all the regions, the company will market its products through various franchises, retail outlets/showrooms, shop-in-shop, marketing chains at major towns in the country," he added.

The gemstones division of Vaibhav in Jaipur has modern cutting and polishing facilities, spread over 20,000 sq. ft., equipped with skilled artisans who produce over 1.5-million carat coloured gemstones.
