Fishing boats are also facing a kind of "drought" this season, as catches are low. It is estimated that each fishing trip on a traditional boat like this one costs Rs 4,000. Since the catch does not add up to all the labour and investment, the fishermen have kept the boats ashore, waiting for the seas to be kinder.
