Mumbai , March 8

BAHWAN CyberTek Pvt Ltd, part of the billion dollar West Asian company, the Suhail Bahwan Group, plans to leverage its India development centre to explore the Asia-Pacific and other international markets.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr N.P. Menon, Chief Operating Officer, Bahwan CyberTek Pvt Ltd, said the company planned to invest $5 million over the next two years in its development centre in Chennai. The facility would be expanded to 800 seats, up from the existing 250 people as part of its growth strategy.

"We are a product-oriented company targeting the e-governance and e-services segments alongwith the banking and financial services industry. Through the Indian centre, we are looking at providing strategic consulting and complete project management services for international markets," Mr Menon said.

CyberTek has already initiated talks with several Indian State Governments for e-governance projects. Through the e-governance projects, CyberTek has projected a 15-20 per cent growth on the human resources front because "all these projects will have a human interface," Mr Menon said citing the 5-year citizen service project the company has bagged from the Oman Government valued at $12.5 million.

"It involves setting up 300 service centres, which would actually be manned kiosks," he added.

With a product portfolio such as CashSwitch for inward outward remittances, PaySwitch for electronic bill payment solution and Financial Portfolio Management system targetted at fund managers and investors, the firm expects to record $8 million in revenues this year and has projected revenues of $20 million the coming year.
