Geojit, Doha Bank offer online trading for Qatar NRIs

Kochi , March 9

THE non-resident Indians (NRIs) in Qatar can now trade in Indian equity shares online. The Kochi-based Geojit Financial Services Ltd has tied up Doha Bank of Qatar to launch `India Equity Service' that enables NRIs to buy and sell shares on the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Apart from all equity trading services, other products and services offered through this new service are Indian and international mutual funds and investment information, Geojit said in a statement here.

Doha Bank, the largest private sector commercial bank in Qatar, has set up a dedicated team at its Treasury and Investment department to manage the service, offered through its 15 branches.

Geojit said it is targeting high net worth Indians in Qatar with the new service and plans to create a customer base of 5,000 people in the first year.
