Alliances & Joint Ventures Marketing - Strategy GAIL, DuPont in pact for selling pipe coating system Our Bureau
New Delhi , April 8 GAIL (India) Ltd and DuPont India on Thursday signed a marketing alliance for selling the DDG system, according to an official release. The DDG system comprises DuPont's Fusabond adhesive products, DuPont's Nap-Gard epoxy powder and GAIL's high-density polyethylene compound. The products will be sold as a package in India and abroad. According to the agreement, the two companies will market the three-layer polyethylene pipe coating system in India and select world markets to begin with and explore other opportunities for expanding the market. The agreement was inked by Mr B.S. Negi, Director (Planning), and Mr Henrique H. Ubrig, President, DuPont India. The DDG system will henceforth be a preferred choice for all the pipeline projects undertaken by GAIL. The company has already used this compound in their recently commissioned Dahej-Vijaipur pipeline project. According to the agreement, GAIL will now market the system for other pipeline projects in India while DuPont will help in identifying international customers. Turkey, Iran, China and other Asian countries are seen as potential international markets for the product. The DDG is also known to be more environment friendly.
