Hyderabad , April 25

MAXFAIR Drugs and Cosmetics Private Ltd, a Nasik-based ayurvedic formulations company, has set a target of Rs 20 crore for the current fiscal. Of which, the company expects Rs 3 crore to come from the southern region.

Launching the company's products in the State, Mr Ranjan Mohapatra, Managing Director of Maxfair, said the company would be setting up a full-fledged research and development centre at Nasik by December at a cost of Rs 2 crore.

Stating that the company was addressing the growing lifestyle-related disorders, he said there were 3.20 crore reported diabetics in the country. "Unreported figures might be more," he said.

Of the 3.20 crore cases, three crore came under non-insulin dependent diabetes. "We are targeting this segment," he said.

The company was planning to launch a product to address sciatica next month. "Other products in the pipeline will address problems like acidity and obesity," he said.

The company's product basket included Diabenol (for diabetes), Damanil (asthma) and Baazigar (sexual dysfunction).
