Chennai , April 30

SRINIVAS Fine Arts, manufacturers of the Nightingale brand of premium diaries, plans to expand its presence in West Asia. The brand had entered UAE through a marketing tie-up with Al Gurg stationery, one of the largest distributors and suppliers of major brands of stationery and office equipment in the Gulf, says a press release from the company. According to Mr V. Balasubramanian, President of SFA, Nightingale's creativity coupled with Al Gurg's distribution skills have helped the brand grow in that market. "Last year sales for the dated and non-dated range of Nightingale products amounted to nearly $ 300,000. This year we have set ourselves a sales target of one million. Also, based on extensive research, Nightingale plans to come out with a range of customised, premium diaries for the Gulf region. This includes an array of 228 varieties, which would be the largest collection of its kind in the Gulf," he said.

In addition, plans are also underway to set up shop at the Jebal Ali Free Trade Zone. The JAFTZ, say the release, is the ideal warehousing and distribution hub of over 2,800 companies from more than 100 countries.

The Nightingale brand is exported to five continents and covers the US, UK, Europe, Australia, and Africa and the SAARC region.

The Al-Gurg Group operates primarily as a wholesale supplier to schools, offices and other stationery shops. It also hold franchises for products from some of the best European and Japanese manufacturers, besides having its own range of products under the brand name Perfekt.
