Mutual Funds Seminar on mutual funds at Hyderabad Our Bureau
HYDERABAD: The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) is organising a national seminar on `Mutual funds - challenges and opportunities' on May 21. "Mutual funds provide a viable alternative for investments of funds as the rates on bank deposits are falling by the day," a FAPCCI official said. "Keeping in mind the importance of mutual funds, we would like to throw light on the subject. The seminar will discuss how these funds operate and various schemes being offered." As part of the seminar, various funds will display their products at an expo to be organised simultaneously. Mr A.K. Batra, member of the SEBI, will inaugurate the seminar, while Mr S.C. Das, Executive Director of the SEBI, will speak on `Role of the regulator and investor protection'. The seminar will discuss issues such as `Mutual funds - strategic support to capital markets', `Types of mutual funds - an investor perspective' and `Marketing strategies - using banks and post office network with rural trust'. Mr A.P. Kurian, Chairman of Association of Mutual Funds of India, will make a special presentation on the subject.
