Tata Motors posts higher April sales

Mumbai , May 6

TATA Motors vehicle sales has registered a growth of 57.7 per cent for the month of April 2004, with a total sale of 24,961 vehicles, including exports, as against a sale of 15,829 vehicles sold in April last year.

The sales in the domestic market stood at 24,026 as against 14,966 last year, said a press release.

Sale of commercial vehicles in April 2004, in the domestic market were 12,050 which is an increase of 71.2 per cent over 7,037 vehicles sold in April last year, the release said.

The passenger car business reported a total sale of 11,976 vehicles in the domestic market in April 2004, an increase of 51 per cent.

Indica sales were 7,251- an increase of 43.3 per cent. Indigo began the new financial year still in the lead in the entry midsize segment even after 16 months of the launch, said the release.
