Rubber rates unchanged

THE physical rubber rates remained unchanged consecutively for the third day on Thursday. The market appeared deserted in the absence of traders, who were busy listening to election updates on television. As a result of which trading volumes appeared to be very thin amidst low arrivals.

RSS 4, the sheet rubber closed static at Rs 57.50 a kg. The TOCOM June futures for RSS 3 improved to 151 yen from 148.5 yen. At Bangkok, RSS 3 was better at Rs 63.16, against Rs 62.99 a kg on Wednesday.

The rubber futures continued its bullish trend on Thursday. The near month June delivery was quoted at Rs 58.56 (Rs 58.20), July delivery at Rs 58.74 (Rs 58.22) and August delivery at Rs 58.00 (Rs 57.55) per kg for RSS 4.The transactions were moderate.

The spot market rates per kg on Thursday were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 57.50 (Rs 57.50); RSS 5 Rs 56.50 (Rs 56.50); ungraded Rs 55.50 (Rs 55.50); ISNR 20 Rs 56.00 (Rs 56.00); and latex 60% Rs 43.50 (Rs 43.50).
