Tourism VUDA develops beach park for kids Our Bureau
VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has developed a park around an old, abandoned lighthouse on the beach exclusively for kids. The park will be inaugurated on Saturday evening, according to a press release issued by Mr K. Rama Reddy, the project manager. A telescope has been installed in the old lighthouse. Other attractions include a mini library and facilities for trekking, rock climbing, wall climbing and indoor games. The park will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m and Rs 5 will be collected as entry fee per child. Entry is, however, free for members of the children's club. ``It is one of the many initiatives we are taking to promote beach tourism and I am sure there will be a good response to it. I have interacted with many children to understand the kind of facilities they need for recreation on the beach,'' said Mr D. Sreenivasulu, Vice-Chairman of the VUDA.
