New Delhi , May 24 HCL Infosystems Ltd is all set to expand its wings into the consumer electronics category. Along with the launch of its integrated digital entertainment systems on Monday, the company also unveiled products such as 42-inch plasma TV, MP3 players, and digital cameras (three models). While the plasma TV will be priced at around Rs 2 lakh, the MP3 players will be available between Rs 1,100 and Rs 14,500. The digital cameras would be available from Rs 1,200 to Rs 12,000, HCL officials said. Targeting the high-end segment, HCL has launched an integrated digital entertainment system in partnership with Microsoft and Intel. The company is targeting sales of up to 7,000 units of this convergence product, called Beanstalk Neo, over the next nine months. The product includes a LCD TV, DVD, MP3-CD player, radio, gaming tool, Web browser, video recorder and is also broadband and wireless ready. The digital entertainment system is priced at Rs 99,990 and comes with a one-year comprehensive warranty. The Beanstalk Neo has been developed by HCL, utilising Microsoft Windows XP Media and Intel's Hyper Threading technology, said Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman, HCL Infosystems. Neo would be sold through the company's retail outlets across the country, initially targeting eight cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Lucknow.
