Bangalore , May 26

TATA Honeywell, a provider of integrated automation and software solutions, has announced that it has won orders from Hindustan Zinc, Gujarat Ambuja, Indal, HEG Ltd, Balco and Tata Steel for automation of their captive power plants.

Tata Honeywell, through its automation system `Experion PKS', will help captive power producers maximise plant efficiency.

"Till now electricity boards had a strangling hold on captive power generation with restrictions like minimum demand charges and serious restriction on parallel and standalone use of the captive plants," said Mr Vinayak Deshpande, Managing Director, Tata Honeywell.
