New Delhi , May 31

BHEL posted a 26 per cent increase in its order book to Rs 950 crore from the service segment during 2003-04 over the previous fiscal.

The order relates to extending services such as uprating, retrofitting and repair of power plants, a company release said.

Specialised services under the orders would help old power plants execute the low-cost option for raising generation from the existing capacities.

In Andhra Pradesh, BHEL's expertise in the service segment helped the power station at Kothgudem to uprate its capacity to 120 MW from 110 MW, enabling it to record 15.98 million units output in a single day.
